ROS NORTON- ARTIST AND TEACHER

ABOUT ME

I trained to teach French, then was a Community Teacher. However, true to family history, I began expressing myself creatively through fabric- there were always discarded bits around to play with! Over the years I’ve developed my own take on costumes, quilts and rugs. Colour and pattern, shapes and arrangements have brought me to my current interest in what I call “paper into paint”- self-expression through collage.

And, just as always, I’m still using waste and recycled stuff in my work. Through this personal journey I’ve always found satisfaction teaching these skills to all age groups (pre-schoolers to the “very mature”), regardless of abilities or language barriers. I feel creativity knows no such limits, and I’m always ready to share the pleasures I’ve discovered on the way.

With this in mind, have a look at my gallery of work and feel free to contact me if ever I can be a useful teacher to groups of people you know. Many thanks for looking!
